Accessibility

Amity University is committed to making the information and resources that it provides via the web accessible to all users. We aim to be standards compliant and follow general principles of usability and universal design, which should help all visitors to this website.

This central site for Amity University is intended to meet the new legislation that came into law last autumn to ensure that digital content is accessible by everyone.

This means that Amity University will need to make improvements to the information in our website and online learning environments, including documents, presentations and videos on websites and in Moodle.

The rules will apply to new online content from September 2019 and will need to be applied to existing content by September 2020.

Through taking this approach we hope to make our site as inclusive as possible, and also to comply with UK legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) as amended by the Special Education Needs and Disability Act (2001), which states that it is an offence to discriminate against a disabled person by treating him or her less favourably than others for a reason relating to their disability.

Any problems encountered with accessing material on this site can be reported to the ICT Unit, contactable by e-mail on ict@amity.ac.uk.
